Whimsical Boho Elegance in Crete James and Irene
After a profound research on the right venue, the couple decided on the romantic inland farm hidden among olive groves overlooking the Aegean Sea. With their busy schedule of New Yorkers, James and Irene started their wedding preparations over a year before the designated event date.
There were many priorities to take into consideration such as excellent food, funky yet elegant decoration, meticulously designed stationery and music that would emphasize the uniqueness of the wedding moments.
At the arrival of guests in the early afternoon of warm Cretan October, string trio welcomed everyone with classical pieces of Bach and Mozart. Sipping their drinks and chatting, guests were led to the special secular ceremony.
Pampas arch with terracotta shades of fresh flowers adorned the focal spot of the wedding marriage where couple exchanged their heartfelt words of commitment and love.
When the sun went down, everyone found their seats to start the feast of Cretan delicacies among fairy lights, paper lampions and boho ratan lamps. Right after speeches, modern white cake was cut and the party began with Irene changing her wedding dress into the satin outfit tributing to her Asian roots.
As the real Cretan event, we could not miss fresh souvlaki to be served right before midnight…one and only comfort food to balance the craziness of fun wedding day.
And so the energy and high spirits were kept till the next day, when back to Chania, Irene and James complemented their wedding journey with romantic portraits taken around Chania Old Town. Just the two of them and historical backgrounds of this cozy Cretan town blessed by the sun that loves Greek islands.
