Enchanting Greek Orthodox Wedding in blue and white Carolina & Conor

An elegant, Greece- inspired wedding under the azure sky of Crete was what Carolina and Conor had dreamed of. Carolina’s Greek background and family connection to Crete, made the choice of their wedding location predetermined. They never looked back with their first decision to combine majestic landscape, high quality organic food and lifestyle focused on hospitality and daily island little pleasures.

Their wedding was painted in hues of blue and white, bride’s beloved color palette.

It was a one stop wedding to create the flawless atmosphere for around 100 guests travelling from abroad. Both Greek Orthodox ceremony and reception took place at an elegant Estate near the picturesque villages of Chania’s countryside. The ceremony was meaningful and magical with all Greek traditions following. Two floral pillars and Greek candles Lambades decorated the chapel. The first kiss took place under the “rain” of rice and white rose petals. Special booklets explaining the symbols of Orthodox marriage were prepared to introduce guests to spiritual words of ceremony conducted in Greek.

Carolina’s romantic and delicate personality made us work around the elegant and amorous details of reception decorations. White classy round tables were adorned with matching florals, mosaic plates and dark blue napkins. Stencil made personalized nametags and guest favors of small olive oil bottles packed in handmade embroidered bags gave a typical for Crete rustic touch.

As the sun dipped below the horizon of Cretan White Mountains, the fairy and the white round pendant lights were turned on for the wedding party! The wedding included all the traditional Greek dishes such as Cretan Pilafi and variety of pies. Needless to say, the portions were also Greek style to make sure no one would leave hungry😊!

After the first dance of the couple and cutting of the cake, Greek dancers with a Greek band entertained the guests till DJ took shift creating a joyful and excellent atmosphere with everyone dancing till late night hours!
